Within these COVID times everyone is adapting to the changes and ambiguity of the future, so we are all in this learning phase together. I wanted to share a few things to start thinking about if you are thinking of have your wedding in 2021 or if it is already planned for 2021.

If you have a destination wedding:

Check international regulations constantly. You want to put your guests minds at ease and you want to insure that you, family members, guests and vendors stay safe.  We don’t know what the traveling situation will be like in 2021 but you can postpone or scale back on the amount of guests if need be.

Downsizing

You want to have a wedding of 250. I would recommend scaling back. If you’re having an outdoor wedding you have more flexibility to spread out and adhere to the distancing regulations. Always keep in mind your safety and the safety of others. If you need to downsize on your guest list make sure to communicate with the guests why.  (ex: adhering to vendor rules, city policy etc)

Elope

Smaller location, intimate space with just your partner in the dessert, or just the close friends or family. If you’re not having your dream wedding you can always elope and have the celebration at a later time.

Music

Even if the event is virtual or in person what is a celebration without a DJ. DJ’s bring these events to life and I have some awesome friends to recommend to make sure your special day works out.

Communication

Over-communicate with your planner, venue and current vendors that you have already booked. Having a planner is helpful because they can check booking policies and see if vendors are available in case it needs to be postponed. You want to be able to have a Plan B if the situation changes. Consider having a livestream option especially for older relatives or people who live further away who can’t attend. Walkthrough every path at the venue to make sure there is a full guest experience whilst being able to socially distance and stay safe. (Sanitizing stations, masks, plexi-glass, washing hand stations are all great options)

Honeymoon

If you have planned a trip for you two to get away. Check your airline’s rules.  If it is 3 months out and flights are still restricted, I would think of a Plan B option. Keep looking at the travel restrictions and guidelines. Some places do have a 14 day stay in place.
